This beech leaf measures approximately 2cm by 1.4cm with a drop from the ear lobe of 3 cm. The ear wires are made from rose gold filled wire. I make each leaf lovingly by hand, using a real leaf as the basis for each piece. I use clay based copper; an unusual and versatile material. I make a mould from the original leaf and then burn the leaf off in a kiln at 873 degrees for 3 hours! This transforms the copper clay into pure copper metal in the exact copy of the leaf. Its a bit like magic! I use a flame to bring a unique colouring to each piece. I then spray with lacquer to prevent them changing colour or turning your skin green and retain the colour. No two pieces will ever be the same. I have shown a couple of examples in the photos.

Rose gold filled has a solid layer of gold (14k) permanently bonded to a base metal, such as brass. The rose colour is obtained by alloying gold with copper. It is very hard wearing and under normal wear the gold will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate, and is commonly used as a more economical alternative to pure gold. I can not guarantee these earrings are hypo-allergenic, although after much wear testing I have not reacted to them.
